Frederick Tanne has been an attorney since 1985, consistently focusing on serving private equity clients, negotiating mergers and acquisitions, and dealing with the complex transactions faced by domestic and international clients alike. For the past 10 years, Frederick Tanne has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America as one of the top attorneys in the leveraged buyout and private equity practice areas.
Over his 25 year career with Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, Frederick Tanne served in numerous management roles, helping to found the firm’s New York office and building it into one of the top-ranked Kirkland offices by revenue. A former senior partner at the firm, Frederick Tanne now serves it in an Of Counsel capacity.
In his free time, Fred Tanne enjoys watching professional football. As a former New York resident, he is a Jets fan. Aside from sports, he is a passionate cook, and enjoys travelling the world. As for charity work, Fred Tanne is vice chairman of the ASPCA and has sat on the boards of both the Insaan Group and Palladia (now Serving the Underserved). He is married and has two grown children.
